Thurdsday,
July 19th, 2007

As much as I write about the beer, it's really all about the camaraderie. For the past three years, DNO has frequently been graced by our resident poet-philosopher, entrepreneur and renaissance man, Erich.

And, as with all good things, our drinking days with Erich have unfortunately come to a pause, as Erich and his family are heading out Frisco way. They'll be settling in Marin County, which will make it easier for him to commute to his job in China. Don't worry, I'm sure Erich will be starting up a West Coast DNO chapter soon—and anyway, it sounds like Erich & Liz can't quite give up the NYC pied-a-terre, so we may see him again some Thurdsday...

The DNO Dads wish them all the best!

For his send-off, Erich was joined by members of the Hospitality Committee, Steve, Kevin and P., aka Mr. Buff. P. was touting the new iPhone. Sweeet. Tempting, too. We also drank. One thing that Heartland Brewery does well is its Seasonal Sampler. Eight glasses on a wooden tray. Personally, I go from light to dark. It's hard to beat the finish of the Farmer John's Stout. Then again, sometimes I go straight for the Stout.
